Mission 47 – Vietnam TET January 2024
TET, Is an incredibly important part of the calendar for the Vietnamese families. This is the start of the lunar new year with all family members getting together to celebrate and also a celebration of those who have passed and remembrance of all those who are no longer with them.
I am very fortunate to be considered part of the Vietnamese family and to be included in all of their family functions and celebrations. It was an incredibly busy trip as I was only there for four days. Tram and her husband Du, are incredible supporters have Change the One Who give of their time, energy and compassion as a gift to us to enable us to help so many.
Below is a brief overview of what we were able to achieve and to help so many during TET.
- a visit to miss Tam with food and clothing
- food nappies and supplies to the special needs school
- distribution of 40 push bikes to school children
- Visit to the 2 new students we are supporting through the generosity of Leonie and Benson – Girl Student – Banson Wong – Dang Huynh Bao Tran, Boy Student – Leonie Woodham – Mr Tran Ngoc Gia Huy
- Food clothing and supplies to 40 families some distributed through the local pagoda. These families are all in desperate need and were chosen by the local authorities.
- Inspection of two possible sports ground sites that we have been asked to consider supporting
- A visit to the family requesting a dairy cow and an introduction to the son who has severe disabilities and requires a new wheel chair.
