Overview of the project for 2023
Change the One will work with the local Vietnamese authorities, government & its people to provide a learning & training facility that is free to those in need while providing them with an income.
(If you would like to contribute to the building of the Learning Centre you can provide your donation here. Donate)
The sourcing or building of this facility will be designed by local architects in Vietnam. Local trades people will be employed to do the work.
The building will be a learning facility for those with disabilities whether physical or educational. It will avail them of the skills to be able to enter the workforce particularly in the hospitality industry. The facility will seek to become a recognised training facility with a certificate of completion, that those attending can take to an employer. We plan to work together with a job placement agency to help graduates find work placement.
Staff will be paid for their work whilst undergoing their training.
A group of volunteer trades people from Australia will also come to work with the locals to assist in the building.
The facility to be self-funding by including:
Café / restaurant
Gift Shop
Crafts & activities for locals & tourists
A stunning garden
Free Accommodation for those travelling from the country as trainees
With these facilities the trainees can learn:
All aspects of cafes / restaurants
House keeping
Reception
Gardening
Security
Classes provided will include English, I.T, Vietnamese, hospitality, gardening & others as the need arise. All classes to be provided at no cost to:
Those of low income or no income
Those carrying a disability whether educational or physical
All up it is likely to require A$250,000 to set up the building and cover initial operating costs until the Centre reaches breakeven.
